Streetlamps
The swirling
scrollwork
lacing
the base
of a park
streetlamp
glows
in light thrown
by its frosted globe, a head
hanging
down
as if asleep
and casting
a dream
encrypted in
filigree.
*
A skim coat
of light
spreading
from a lone streetlamp
polishes
a wet stone walkway,
the slumbering snow
it fords
aglow
with
crystalline
dreams.
